Atualização em Sepse

This book is intended to address new concepts in medical care for a wide variety of clinicians who are involved in the care of patients with pneumonia and sepsis. This material is a compendium that goes from basic science research regarding genetics in sepsis and the impact of inflammation and aging in pneumococcal disease to new and future interventions translating basic information into clinical practice. Other topics covered in this book include issues regarding antibiotic therapy, such as other roles for macrolides, and appropriate dose adjustment and pharmacodynamic considerations.
Finally, a wide variety of novel and innovative therapies are reviewed, including corticosteroids, statins, and nonspecific removal of sepsis mediators that are being used in patients with pneumonia and sepsis.
